3 day Daintree, Cape Tribulation, 4wd Bloomfield Track & Cooktown Tour

What time does the tour start and end?
Pickups from the Southside Accommodation 6.50 am, Cairns CBD is 7.00 – 7.15am, Northern Beaches 7.20 – 7.45am, Port Douglas are at 8.20am. Please ensure you are on time for your pickup if you run late and miss your pickup you fail to load and will be charge 100% fail to load fee.  All cancellations are required 7 days prior to departure date, or will incur a cancellation fee. Returning time on day 3 is Port Douglas at approx 6.300 – 7.00pm, Northern Beaches 7.30pm, Cairns City 8.00pm. Please note all times are approximate.  

How many people will be in the vehicle?
Our vehicles take 7,13, 14 & 16 passengers only. Small personalised numbers.

Can we do a private charter?
Private charters are available with personalised itineraries and price on application.

What do I need to take?
Please take Hat, Sunscreen, Camera, extra batteries & memory cards Water bottle, Towel, Swimming Costume, couple of sets of change of clothes insect repellent, extra cash for cold drinks, souvenirs or an ice-cream, only a small soft overnight bag, no suitcases. 

What luggage can I take?
A small soft sided overnight cabin bag only, as luggage space is limited. Maximum 10 kgs other luggage will have to be stored at your accommodation or alternate arrangements made.

What do I wear?
Comfortable clothes as you are in the tropics, our winter you may wish to take a light coat. Flat comfortable shoes or sandals. Shoes must have Grip, Preferable no thongs, and ladies no high heels as there is uneven ground and you will be in the rainforest.

What does Billy Tea provide?
We provide Morning Tea, which is a Tea / Coffee and Biscuits at the Cruise Centre, Guided walks, Custom built 4WD vehicles, experienced accredited guides, delicious BBQ Lunch, Tropical Exotic Fruits and Billy Tea and Damper.  Itineraries may be changed or run in reverse at the discretion of Billy Tea Safaris.  All other meals are indicated by itineary with Adventure North for the continuation of the other two days to Cooktown and return.

What if I have dietary requirements?
All dietary requirements must be notified at time of reservation, or 48 hours prior to tour departure we can cater for vegetarians and most other requirements within reason and must be medical not just I don't eat that.

Where do we go?
We visit the Majestic Daintree River for an informative 1 hour river cruise. Alexandra Lookout, one of the many Rainforest elevated boardwalks (we have permits to all walks in the Daintree / Cape Tribulation) so depending on the day as to where we go. Lync Haven animal sanctuary to hand feed wallabies see other wildlife and also enjoy the rainforest setting restaurant for our Gourmet BBQ Lunch. Then past Cape Tribulation Beach onto the 4WD Bloomfield Track to Emmagen Creek, to enjoy a refreshing freshwater swim and tropical fruits. From here to Cape Tribulation Beach for a walk on the beach out to the viewing photographers. You will then be dropped at your overnight accommodation in Cape Tribulation. Day 2 This morning you will be collected from your accommodation by Adventure North Australia approx 9.30 – 10.30am where your journey will continue to Cooktown-The Last Frontier of North Queensland. The 4WD only Bloomfield Track allows you to travel through the heart of this World Heritage Listed area providing incredible glimpses of Australia hard to imagine. Travel over rugged mountain ranges and river crossings. Look for crocodiles and other Australian wildlife and fauna. We stop for lunch at the Lions Den Hotel, one of North Queensland’s oldest running bush pubs (est. 1875). Visit the mysterious Black Mountains steeped in Aboriginal legend before arriving mid afternoon in Cooktown. From Grassy Hill enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of Cooktown, the Endeavour River and the Coral Sea. Have your camera ready! Overnight- Cooktown. Day3 Free Day to explore Cooktown or maybe take on the optional Aboriginal Rock Art Tour. Visit the World Class James Cook Museum or stroll along the shores of the Endeavour River. The main street has a charm and historical atmosphere, which still prevails. You can experience the unspoilt beauty of the area, which remains much the same as when Captain Cook landed his stranded ship in 1770. This afternoon depart Cooktown via the inland road, The Mulligan Highway, traveling through a diverse landscape of cattle stations and the Palmer River Gold mine region, which is the Outback of Far North Queensland. Stop for dinner (at your own expense).

Is the tour wheelchair / disabled friendly?
This tour is not wheelchair friendly, due to uneven ground, steps.
