On the Daintree Cape Tribulation 4WD Bloomfield Track Rainforest tour we have been spotting adult male cassowaries with chicks, crocodiles are appearing more and more sunning themselves on the banks and sand bars with the cooler temperatures happening and seeing many species of beautiful birds such as Golden Whistlers, Wompoo Fruit Dove, Superb Fruit Dove, Rose-crowned Fruit Dove, Azure Kingfishers, Great Egret, Gerygone, Noisy Pitta, Double-eyed Fig-Parrot, Nakeen Heron. Wildlife Bush Rat, Melomys, Spectacled flying-fox, Green Tree Snake, Peppermint Stick Insect, just to name a free and various varieties of plants. The Chillagoe Caves and Outback in a day tour is looking spectacular after the summer rains and now coming into our cooler winter months, there are more migratory birds arriving at the Mareeba Wetlands such as Black Swan, Whistling Ducks, Australian Wood Duck, Cotton Pygmy Goose, various Egrets. There are still many species of bush birds about like the Pacific Bazza, Squatter Pigeon, Black Throated Finch, Chestnut breasted Manikins, Blue-Winged Kookaburras, Wedge Tail Eagles, also been seeing a few Frilled Neck Lizards, also Eastern Grey Kangaroos, and Pretty Faced Wallabies.
